Beware – Not all Stainless Steel gravity water filters are the same. Some brands do rust out.

The other trick is some suppliers will advertise they have 12, 16 or 24 litre gravity water filters. This is only correct IF the bottom tank will hold those volumes of water. As most stainless steel gravity water filters have the top tank sitting on top of the bottom tank, the maximum volume of water these filters can hold is as the Filteroo® Steel gravity water filters are advertised. 6 litre, 9 litre & 12 litre.

This fast-flowing carbon block cartridge by Filteroo® is perfectly designed for gravity water filtration. It excels at removing undesirable elements such as chlorine, chlorine by-products, as well as taste and odours from your water supply, ensuring that you and your family can enjoy clean, refreshing drinking water in line with your health requirements.

Utilising a highly efficient compressed carbon block, this cartridge comes highly recommended for rainwater and city water supplies that have been treated with chlorine or chloramine. The carbon media used in this cartridge substantially reduces herbicides, pesticides, lead, heavy metals, chlorine, and the associated taste and odour issues in the water, resulting in pleasant-tasting drinking water for your household.

It’s worth noting that carbon filtration is internationally recognized by organisations dedicated to ensuring the provision of safe and pure drinking water. When not in use

If the filter is left to stand for more than 3 – 4 days without use, it is recommended that one litre of water be allowed to flow through the cartridge to waste before using.

 

Fully disposable cartridges

You can break up the old cartridges with a hammer into small pieces and put the crushed carbon into the garden, then place the plastic end caps into the recycling bin. Or simply wrap your worn-out cartridges up in old newspaper and place them into your rubbish bin.
